Nature’s Touch Grub Control uses “beneficial nematodes”, with the technical name “Heterhabditis Bacteriophora”. These very aggressive microscopic worms travel through soil looking for grub larvae. Nematodes exist normally, but generally not in sufficient volume to control grub larvae.
A beneficial nematode, under appropriate conditions, essentially finds and penetrates the grub larvae and turns it into food. When converting it to a form easily taken up by the nematode, the effected larvae die within a few days.
Beneficial nematodes are safe to use on your lawn and garden. They are not harmful to people, pets or plants and other beneficial organisms, like earthworms, are not affected either. In fact, people and pets can play on your lawn immediately after application.
Your Weed Man Professional will be paying close attention to the timing of your Nature’s Touch Grub Control application. Once applied, the success of Nature’s Touch Grub Control will depend largely on what you do with your lawn in the days following the application.
Nematodes will be in the feeding cycle from day two to day five and are most effective when the soil is moist, so keep it that way for this period. Your first watering, that which moves the nematodes off the grass surface and into the soil, is perhaps your most important watering. Nematodes sitting in hot, dry soil will significantly reduce the application effectiveness or prevent the application from working at all.
A successful treatment will stop the spread of browning or dead grass. Your local Weed Man Professional can offer assistance and/or suggestions with respect to repairing the damaged areas!
Surface Insect Control
